Designed to protect the ribbon from air blasts when close mic-ing harmon mutes; this pop filter enables you to get that "Miles Davis" close-mic mute tone without the risk of damaging the ribbon element.
 
This can act as insurance when using voice and on cabs, however, care must still be taken not to expose the element to air blasts which can be unpredictable on sources like voice - as such off-axis mic techniques are encouraged.
